Mumbai bank deputy manager held for stealing NRI’s gold worth Rs 82 lakh
A bank deputy manager was arrested for misappropriating gold ornaments valued at Rs 82 lakh. The ornaments belonged to a 72-year-old NRI who had deposited them in a bank locker. He discovered the gold was missing when he visited the branch after two years. Police investigations revealed the accused had mortgaged the complainant's jewellery with gold mortgage firms.
