Mekedatu plan not for Bengaluru water, experts say

Karnataka's claim that the proposed Mekedatu dam is meant to meet Bengaluru's drinking water needs is not supported by field-level findings, which indicate no drinking water shortage in the city, the Tamil Nadu Sectoral Experts Federation said on Thursday, asserting that the state is instead planning to expand its irrigation area.
