Four killed, over 7 injured in road accidents in Odisha

At least four people were killed, while more than seven others sustained serious injuries in three separate road accidents in Odisha on Thursday. As per reports, the first accident took place near a petrol pump in Sundargarh. Three bikers were reportedly crushed to death under a speeding truck. The mishap was so tragic that the three youths, travelling on a bike, were crushed to death on the spot. Likewise, the second incident was reported from Satakosia Ghat on the Karanjia road in Mayurbhanj district, while the third was reported from the National Highway near Rajdhani College in Bhubaneswar. Around 30 male and female labourers from Sikabeda village under Anandapur police limits had gone to Chapundia village for paddy transplantation. While returning in two autos, one of the vehicles collided head-on with a luxury car coming from the opposite direction near Satakosia Ghat. One person was killed in the accident, while more than five others sustained injuries. The injured were shifted to a medical facility for treatment. Mahuldiha police are investigating the incident. In the third accident, a truck rammed into the rear of a car on the National Highway in front of Rajdhani College in Bhubaneswar. The truck driver and two people travelling in the car sustained injuries. Police from Khandagiri police station reached the spot, rescued the injured, and admitted them to Capital Hospital for treatment. The truck driver was identified as Naresh Kumar from Andhra Pradesh, while the car driver is a resident of Bhubaneswar. The accident occurred while the car was travelling from Rasulgarh towards Khordha. Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the collision.
