Father Dies While Saving Son from Drowning in South Kashmir

Qazigund, Aug 19: A man drowned while attempting to rescue his five-year-old son after the child accidentally fell into Nallah Sandran at Nussu Badragund area of Qazigund in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Wednesday. According to officials, the father-son duo had gone to the area to attend a marriage ceremony when the child, identified as Imad Zahoor, accidentally fell into the water channel. The child was rescued and shifted to Emergency Hospital Qazigund, where he is undergoing treatment. Officials said his condition is stable and he remains under observation. The father, identified as Zahoor Ahmad Ganie, a resident of Nigenpora, drowned while trying to save his son. Police have taken cognisance of the incident and initiated proceedings.
