X scraps Creator Revenue Sharing for Original Content Rewards: New payout, eligibility rules explained

X is ending its Creator Revenue Sharing programme and moving creators to a new Original Content Rewards Programme. The platform stopped accepting new applications for the old scheme on August 7, 2026, and will retire it on September 7. Existing members will continue earning until then, with three final payouts planned. From September 8, they can start applying for the new programme if they meet its eligibility rules. The new system will focus on original posts and pay creators based on qualified impressions from Premium users on the Home Timeline.
