West Bengal orders closure of 252 madrassas after state-wide survey

The West Bengal government has ordered 252 madrassas closed and issued show-cause notices to around 100 others following a state-wide survey that identified gaps in approvals and infrastructure. Officials said further action would follow examination of responses to the notices
