Three Children Drown in Pond in Assam's Bokajan
Three children drowned in a pond at Barmanthi village under Bokajan police station in Assam's Karbi Anglong district, leaving the area in mourning. The three children had been missing since Wednesday afternoon. Their families and local residents searched for them for several hours but were unable to trace them. Later in the evening, some villagers noticed the clothes worn by the children lying near the bank of a large pond in the village. Suspecting that the children may have fallen into the pond, villagers launched a search operation in the water. After an extensive search, the bodies of all three children were recovered from the pond. The deceased have been identified as Sujit Garh, Ganesh Mesh and Rohit Panika, all residents of Barmanthi village. They were around nine years old. The incident has cast a pall of gloom over Barmanthi village, with the deaths of the three children leaving their families and local residents shocked.
