Parliamentary Panel backs 'ex-ante' framework in Digital Competition Bill, urges inclusion of Virtual Assistants

Ex-ante is a regulatory framework where the competition law regulator takes a proactive approach by establishing predefined "dos and don'ts" upfront for systemically important digital platforms – to prevent them from indulging in anti-competitive practises. An ex-ante framework allows the regulatory to take action on violators based on non-compliance with pre-set obligations.
