NC to gherao BJP offices in Jammu and Kashmir over unfulfilled demands

Srinagar, Sep 1: The National Conference (NC) has announced that it will stage peaceful protest outside Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) offices in Srinagar and Jammu on Wednesday, demanding accountability for the promises made by the Union Government in the Parliament and before the Supreme Court of India regarding Jammu and Kashmir. “The National Conference will peacefully gherao the BJP headquarters in Srinagar and Jammu tomorrow, demanding accountability for the promises made by the Union Government in Parliament and before the Supreme Court of India. Our demands are clear: constitutional guarantees, restoration of statehood, clearance of the reservation file, and justice for the people of J&K,” NC said on its official X handle. The party said the mandate of the people of Jammu and Kashmir is not a “blank cheque”, and it must be respected, not taken for granted.
