An unverified video circulating online allegedly shows the wreckage of an unmanned aircraft near Sirik in Iran’s Hormozgan Province on August 10. Reports claim the aircraft could be a Chinese-made Wing Loong II operated by the Royal Saudi Air Force, and that Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Aerospace Force shot it down near the Strait of Hormuz. Local fishermen were reportedly involved in recovering the debris. However, the claims have not been independently verified, and there is no confirmed evidence at this stage that Saudi Arabia launched an airstrike against Iran. The alleged incident comes amid heightened regional tensions and days after Saudi Arabia signed NATO-like defence agreements with Turkey and Pakistan.
