Cost-effective electrification could raise electricity share to 35 per cent by 2035: IEA

A new IEA Special Report finds cost-effective technologies could lift electricity’s share of global final energy use from 23 per cent today to about 35 per cent by 2035, as countries pursue electrification to cut reliance on imported fossil fuels, bolster energy security.
