Bombay HC Converts Plea Over Tribal Students’ Hunger Strike Into PIL Over Ashram School Conditions

The Bombay High Court has converted a petition over tribal students’ hunger strike into a PIL to examine wider concerns at Maharashtra’s ashram schools and hostels. The court cited issues involving infrastructure, food, safety and education. It had earlier directed the State to ensure medical care and safety for fasting students.
