Bills to allow municipalities to take over private streets, drains tabled in Karnataka Assembly

The Karnataka Municipalities (Amendment) Bill, 2026, and the Karnataka Municipal Corporations (Amendment) Bill, 2026, which seek to empower commissioners to take over private streets and drains if they are in poor condition and pose a threat to public safety and health, were tabled in the Legislative Assembly on Wednesday.
