Anand led the protest along with Kusum, Vishal, Srikanth and Preetham. They demanded compensation for about 69 properties affected by the road expansion.

The protesters said the affected families had lived in the area for three to four generations. They said many of the properties were covered by registered sale deeds.

They demanded compensation on par with that provided to B2 property owners by the Secunderabad Cantonment Board and Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA).

The protesters said some of the properties had been purchased through registered sale deeds dating back to 1921. They contended that the lands were acquired during the Nizam era and were not part of land belonging to the British Ministry of Defence.

They said the properties had been purchased before 1948, when Hyderabad was integrated into the Indian Union. They contended that the Ministry of Defence subsequently took over Cantonment lands, but the Bollarum properties in question had already been purchased during the Nizam era.

The protesters said they were not opposed to the Rajiv Rahadari expansion, which is intended to serve a public purpose. However, they said the Ministry of Defence or HMDA should not take over B3 properties without providing fair compensation.

The demand comes amid wider concerns among property owners along Rajiv Rahadari over compensation and land acquisition for the proposed elevated corridor. The project is planned along the route between Paradise Junction and the Outer Ring Road junction, with Bolarum among the affected areas.

The protesters said they had brought the issue to the notice of Hyderabad Collector and Malkajgiri MP Etela Rajender, but no action had been taken so far. Rajender has previously sought compensation based on market value for affected Rajiv Rahadari property owners.
Several property owners have also approached the Telangana High Court through writ petitions, seeking relief in connection with the proposed expansion and compensation.
