Union Home Minister Amit Shah stressed on the preservation of India's knowledge tradition, history and cultural heritage at the Asiatic Society in Mumbai. He said that true knowledge is not hostage to any ideology. Citing the example of Nalanda, Shah said that institutions and libraries can be destroyed, but the living knowledge in the memory and tradition of the society cannot be erased. He described decolonization as a process of presenting the correct history from the Indian perspective instead of erasing it.
