The Odisha government is set to give a major push to primary education with plans to establish 2,200 ‘Godabarish Mishra Adarsha Primary Schools’ across the state in the first phase, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi announced on Independence Day. The initiative aims to strengthen the primary education system by improving school infrastructure and creating better learning environments for children. The Chief Minister said the proposed model schools will play an important role in ensuring quality primary education across the state. Addressing Shortage Of Teachers Speaking about the government’s efforts to strengthen the education sector, Majhi said significant steps have already been taken to address the shortage of teachers in primary schools. According to the Chief Minister, 26,000 teachers have been recruited over the past two years to strengthen the primary education system. The government has now initiated the process to recruit another 45,000 teachers in the coming days. The large-scale recruitment drive is expected to improve teacher availability in schools and help provide better classroom support to students across Odisha. The government’s focus will not be limited to recruitment alone. Through the proposed Godabarish Mishra Adarsha Primary Schools, emphasis will also be placed on strengthening basic infrastructure and improving the overall quality of primary education.
