The monsoon session of Parliament was marred by uproar and continuous adjournments. Against the scheduled work of about 133 hours in 19 sittings, the Lok Sabha lasted only 17.4 hours and the Rajya Sabha lasted 37 hours 49 minutes. The productivity of Lok Sabha was 16% and that of Rajya Sabha was 39.17%. Due to the deadlock between the opposition and the government, discussions on many important issues and bills were affected.
