Visvesvaraya Technological University has recovered more than Rs 700 crore belonging to it after a 14-year dispute with the Income Tax Department.

A crucial entry register obtained through RTI Act helped VTU establish it had applied for tax exemption in 1999, reports Mohammed Rafiq Mulla.
