UPSC opens applications for 80 APFC posts in EPFO; apply by Sept 11

New Delhi: The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has invited applications from eligible candidates for direct recruitment to 80 Assistant Provident Fund Commissioner (APFC) posts in the Central government. The vacancies are in the Employees' Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) under the Ministry of Labour and Employment. Candidates can submit their applications through UPSC's Online Recruitment Application (ORA) portal between August 22 and September 11, 2026. Of the 80 vacancies, 29 are for the unreserved category, eight for Economically Weaker Sections (EWS), 18 for Other Backward Classes (OBC), 15 for Scheduled Castes (SC) and 10 for Scheduled Tribes (ST). Three vacancies are horizontally reserved for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD). Candidates can check the detailed notification, vacant posts and eligibility criteria here . UPSC said the detailed Special Advertisement No. 52/2026, along with instructions for applicants, has been made available for candidates. Applicants have been advised to carefully go through the prescribed eligibility conditions and instructions before submitting their forms. The Assistant Provident Fund Commissioners will handle work related to enforcement, recovery, accounts, administration, legal matters, pension and other functions within EPFO. Their responsibilities may include conducting inquiries, settling claims, handling general administration, maintaining financial records, reconciling bank statements and overseeing management information system returns. The APFC position is a permanent Central Board Group 'A', non-ministerial post and carries Level 10 of the Central government pay matrix. The post also has an all-India service liability.
