UPI Transactions Hit Record 24.51 Billion In August, Festive Demand Drives Growth

UPI recorded its highest-ever monthly volume in August 2026, processing 24.51 billion transactions worth ₹29.82 lakh crore, according to NPCI data. Transaction growth was supported by festive activity including Raksha Bandhan, which boosted peer-to-peer transfers and digital payments. NPCI said the platform continues expanding, with UPI now accepted in 11 countries globally.
