New Pay Scale Notification Issued for Government Employees; Maximum Salary Set at Tk 156,000

The Finance Division of the Ministry of Finance has issued a notification on the new pay and allowance structure for government employees. The new structure will be effective from July 1. Government employees will also receive arrears for the months of July, August and September. Under the new structure, the minimum basic salary has been set at Tk 48,400, while the maximum basic salary will be Tk 156,000. The full increase in basic salaries will be implemented from July 1, 2027. Other allowances under the new pay structure will come into effect from January 1, 2028. Pensioners will also receive all applicable benefits under the new pay structure. According to the notification, from July 1 to December 31, officials in Grade 9 and above will receive 40 percent of the additional basic salary, while employees in Grades 10 to 20 will receive 50 percent. The additional amount will be added to their payable salary. From January 1 to June 30, 2027, officials in Grade 9 and above will receive 70 percent of the increased basic salary, while employees in Grades 10 to 20 will receive 75 percent.
