Motion to send FCRA Bill to JPC adopted in Lok Sabha amid Opposition uproar

While the Opposition demanded withdrawal of the Bill, alleging it targets NGOs and minority organisations, the government rejected the charge and said the legislation is aimed at strengthening national security. The motion was passed by voice vote, after which the House was adjourned until 3 pm.
