Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy has decided to drop Konda Surekha from the state Cabinet, bringing a weeks-long disciplinary dispute within the Telangana Congress to a head. The recommendation for her removal was sent to the Governor for approval. The action followed a report from the TPCC disciplinary committee recommending stern action over the controversy surrounding remarks made by Surekha’s daughter, Konda Sushmitha Patel, against Revanth Reddy and his family.Surekha has strongly protested her removal. She says she did nothing wrong, committed no corruption and was not given an opportunity to explain herself before the decision.
