Karnataka MLA Ashavanta Patil resigns over denial of drought-hit status for Indi

Congress MLA Ashavanta Rayagoud V Patil resigned from the Karnataka Assembly on September 23, protesting the exclusion of Indi and Chadchan taluks from the state’s drought-hit list. He said repeated requests to the government had gone unheeded.
