IG, DIGs camping at Kansapuram following clash between caste groups

A huge posse of policemen were deployed in Kansapuram where a father-son duo were attacked with weapons and several vehicles were damaged in a clash between two caste groups on Tuesday night. Senior police officers, led by Inspector General of Police (South Zone) Vijayendra Bidari, Deputy Inspector Generals of Police Abhinav Kumar (Madurai) and N. Manivannan (Ramanathapuram) are camping in the troubled area. Besides, four officers in the rank of Superintendent of Police are also overseeing police picketing.
