Hyderabad marathon traffic curbs on August 30; heavy vehicles barred on key Cyberabad roads

The marathon and half marathon will start from People’s Plaza on Necklace Road, while the 10km run will start from [...] <p class="isSelectedEnd"><strong>HYDERABAD:</strong> Traffic restrictions and diversions will be imposed across several roads in Hyderabad and Cyberabad on August 30 for the NMDC Hyderabad Marathon-2026, the Cyberabad traffic police said in an advisory issued on August 27.</p> <p class="isSelectedEnd">The marathon and half marathon will start from People’s Plaza on Necklace Road, while the 10km run will start from the HITEX Exhibition Hall at Khanamet, Madhapur. All three runs will finish at GMC Balayogi Stadium in Gachibowli.</p> <p class="isSelectedEnd">The marathon, covering 42.195km, will run from People’s Plaza through Jubilee Hills, Road No. 45, Cable Bridge, ITC Kohinoor, Knowledge City, My Home Bhooja, IKEA, Biodiversity Junction, Gachibowli Flyover and IIIT Junction before entering the University of Hyderabad campus and finishing at Gachibowli Stadium.</p> <p class="isSelectedEnd">The 21.097km half marathon will follow a similar route from People’s Plaza through Jubilee Hills, Road No. 45, Cable Bridge, ITC Kohinoor, Knowledge City, My Home Bhooja, IKEA, Biodiversity Junction, Gachibowli Flyover, Indira Nagar and IIIT Junction before finishing at Gachibowli Stadium.</p> <p class="isSelectedEnd">The 10km run will start at HITEX and pass through the NAC main gate, Metal Charminar Junction, CII Junction, GATI, Rainbow Hospital, Tech Mahindra Gate, Dell Junction, HSBC Exit Junction, Lemon Tree Junction, IKEA underpass, IOCL, Transco, Biodiversity Junction, Telecom Nagar and Gachibowli Flyover before ending at the stadium.</p> <h2>Police list 16 junctions for route-specific diversions</h2> <p class="isSelectedEnd">Traffic coming from Shaikpet Flyover and Darga Junction towards Lingampally will be diverted at Khajaguda Junction through Nanakramguda Rotary-1, Nanakramguda Rotary-2, Wipro Circle, Gowlidoddi and Gopanpally Junction to Nalagandla and Lingampally from 06.00 to 11.00 IST.</p> <p class="isSelectedEnd">Vehicles travelling from Lingampally towards Mehdipatnam will be diverted at Masjidbanda T-Junction through Heritage Junction, Botanical Garden signal, Anjaiah Nagar, Radisson, PJR Flyover, Outer Ring Road, Nanakramguda Rotary, DPS, Khajaguda and Shaikpet Flyover from 06.00 to 11.00 IST.</p> <p class="isSelectedEnd">Traffic from Road No. 36, Neerus and COD towards Kothaguda or Kondapur will be diverted at Cyber Towers Junction through IKEA Rotary, Meenakshi Junction, Rolling Hills and the U-turn under PJR Flyover from 06.00 to 09.00 IST. The same diversion will apply to traffic from JNTU towards Kothaguda or Kondapur.</p> <p class="isSelectedEnd">Traffic from Cyber Towers towards the Outer Ring Road will be diverted at IKEA Junction through the new IKEA U-turn, Arbitration Road and Shilpa Layout Flyover before merging with the ORR from 06.00 to 10.00 IST.</p> <p class="isSelectedEnd">Vehicles from Cyber Towers towards Biodiversity Junction and Mehdipatnam will be diverted at IOCL T-Junction through T-Works, My Home Bhooja, Old Mumbai Highway, Khajaguda and Shaikpet Flyover from 06.00 to 10.00 IST.</p> <p class="isSelectedEnd">Traffic from Kondapur towards Cyber Towers will be diverted at Kothaguda Junction through Anjaiah Nagar, Radisson Junction, Rolling Hills, AIG, IKEA Flyover, Inorbit Mall, Durgam Cheruvu and COD Junction from 04.00 to 09.00 IST.</p> <p class="isSelectedEnd">Traffic from Allwyn Junction and Miyapur towards Cyber Towers will be diverted at CR Foundation T-Junction through Vasantha City Colony, the NAC back-side road, HITEC City MMTS station, NIA Road and Cyber Towers from 04.00 to 09.00 IST.</p> <p class="isSelectedEnd">Traffic from Shilpa Layout Flyover towards Cyber Towers will be diverted through IKEA Flyover, Inorbit Mall, Durgam Cheruvu and COD Junction from 06.00 to 10.00 IST.</p> <p class="isSelectedEnd">Vehicles from Road No. 45 Junction towards Khajaguda through IKEA and Biodiversity will be diverted through Kavuri Hills, Divya Diamonds, Nectar Garden, Durgam Cheruvu, I-Labs, ITC Kohinoor, RMZ Junction, Qualcomm and My Home Bhooja before reaching Khajaguda from 08.00 to 11.00 IST.</p> <p class="isSelectedEnd">Traffic from Gachibowli Junction towards Wipro Junction via IIIT Junction will be diverted at Indira Nagar T-Junction through GPRA quarters, Gopichand Academy and Infosys from 06.00 to 11.00 IST.</p> <p class="isSelectedEnd">Traffic from Wipro Junction towards IIIT Junction will be diverted through Fairfield Hotel, Nanakramguda Rotary-2 and the ORR before reaching Gachibowli Junction from 04.00 to 11.30 IST.</p> <p class="isSelectedEnd">Traffic from Kondapur and Kothaguda towards Lingampally will be diverted at Botanical Signal Junction through Sriram Nagar, Heritage, Ambedkar Statue and Masjidbanda T-Junction from 06.00 to 11.00 IST.</p> <p class="isSelectedEnd">Vehicles from BHEL towards Mehdipatnam will be diverted at Nalagandla Flyover T-Junction through Nalagandla Rotary, Neo Mall, Gopanpally, Gowlidoddi, Wipro, Nanakramguda Rotary-1 and 2, DPS, Khajaguda and Shaikpet Flyover from 06.00 to 11.00 IST.</p> <p class="isSelectedEnd">Traffic from Lingampally RUB towards Mehdipatnam will be diverted at Gulmohar Junction through Nalagandla Flyover, Nalagandla Rotary, Neo Mall, Gopanpally, Gowlidoddi, Wipro, Nanakramguda Rotary-1 and 2, DPS, Khajaguda and Shaikpet Flyover from 06.00 to 11.00 IST.</p> <p class="isSelectedEnd">Vehicles from ORR and Gachibowli Junction towards JNTU via Cyber Towers will be diverted at Kothaguda Flyover Y-Junction towards Hafeezpet Flyover, Allwyn X Road and the U-turn before reaching JNTU from 04.00 to 09.00 IST.</p> <h2>Heavy vehicles barred, cab operators asked to avoid routes</h2> <p class="isSelectedEnd">Heavy vehicles, including trucks, lorries, DCMs, ready-mix concrete vehicles and water tankers, will not be allowed on the affected routes in the Madhapur, Raidurgam, Gachibowli and Kollur traffic police station limits from 05.00 to 12.30 IST on August 30.</p> <p class="isSelectedEnd">The traffic police advised motorists to use the specified alternative routes to avoid congestion and cooperate with personnel deployed for traffic regulation.</p> <p class="isSelectedEnd">Cab, auto and taxi online aggregator companies have also been asked to avoid pickup and drop services on the restricted stretches during the specified periods.</p> The advisory was issued by the joint commissioner of police, Traffic, Cyberabad, for the smooth conduct of the event and the convenience of the public.
