Gadwal medical shop raided for operating without drug licence

The Drugs Wing of TG SAFE raided Sana Medical and General Stores at D No. 5-2-21, Government College Road, Main Road, Gadwal, Jogulamba Gadwal [...] <p class="isSelectedEnd"><strong>GADWAL:</strong> Telangana Standards Authority for Food and Essential Drugs <a href="https://hyderabadmail.com/tg-safe-hyderabad-restaurant-inspections-food-safety-violations/">(TG SAFE)</a> officials seized medicines worth ₹50,000 from a medical shop operating without a drug licence in Gadwal on September 2, 2026.</p> <p class="isSelectedEnd">The Drugs Wing of TG SAFE raided Sana Medical and General Stores at D No. 5-2-21, Government College Road, Main Road, Gadwal, Jogulamba Gadwal district, following information about illegal sale of medicines.</p> <p class="isSelectedEnd">Officials said Shaik Mohammad Khaja Gousuddin was running the shop without a valid drug licence.</p> <h3>Officials detect 50 varieties of medicines stocked for sale</h3> <p class="isSelectedEnd">During the raid, officials found 50 varieties of medicines stocked for sale at the premises. The stock included habit-forming drugs, antibiotics, steroids, analgesics and other medicines.</p> <p class="isSelectedEnd">The seized stock was valued at ₹50,000, according to TG SAFE.</p> <h3>Samples lifted for analysis, further action to follow</h3> <p class="isSelectedEnd">Drugs Inspector, Gadwal, S. Vinay, and Drugs Inspector, Nagarkurnool, S. Vishwanth Reddy, conducted the raid under the supervision of Assistant Director, Mahbubnagar, D. Saritha.</p> <p class="isSelectedEnd">TG SAFE officials lifted samples for analysis. Further investigation will be conducted and action will be taken under the law against the offenders, the authority said.</p> <p class="isSelectedEnd">The authority also warned wholesalers and dealers against supplying medicines to unlicensed shops. It said suppliers must ensure that recipient entities hold valid drug licences before supplying medicines.</p> <p class="isSelectedEnd">TG SAFE said stocking medicines for sale without a drug licence is punishable under the Drugs and Cosmetics Act, with imprisonment of up to five years.</p> <p class="isSelectedEnd">The authority said it issues drug licences for stocking and selling medicines under the provisions of the Drugs and Cosmetics Act.</p> TG SAFE urged the public to report illegal activities involving medicines and suspected drug manufacturing, including narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances, through its toll-free number <strong>1800-599-6969</strong>. The number is operational from 10.30 IST to 17.00 IST on working days.
