‘Flee West Asia’: Iran Warns U.S. Troops After Washington Tells Civilians To Leave | Watch
Iranian state television has turned Washington’s latest security alert back against the United States, warning the families of American military personnel to tell their soldiers to leave West Asia. The message followed a U.S. advisory urging American citizens not to travel to Iran “for any reason” and telling those already inside the country to depart immediately. Tehran’s warning is aimed at thousands of U.S. troops operating from bases and facilities across Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait, the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Iraq and Jordan. Iran’s central military command claims Washington may be preparing renewed operations with assistance from regional governments and has threatened sustained retaliation against American bases if fresh strikes begin. Washington describes its alert as a civilian-protection measure. Tehran is portraying it as evidence that the United States expects the confrontation to become considerably more dangerous.
