Day After Assam-Meghalaya Peace Push, Taxi Body Turns Back Assam Vehicles

Meghalaya tourist taxi drivers reportedly stopped & turned back Assam-registered commercial vehicles at Barapani on Sunday, demanding that only local taxis operate within the state. The move came a day after Assam & Meghalaya agreed on measures to restore normal movement. Talks were scheduled with the Meghalaya govt as both sides sought to ease tensions & address recurring border issues.
