CCPA Fines Rapido ₹10 Lakh For Alleged Dark Patterns, Misleading Fare Prompts In Ride Bookings

The CCPA has imposed a ₹10 lakh penalty on Rapido operator Roppen Transportation Services for alleged misleading advertisements, unfair trade practices and dark patterns. The regulator said Rapido prompts encouraged riders to pay more before booking confirmation. The action followed a review of cab and bike-taxi aggregator platforms focusing on tipping and dynamic pricing practices.
