Asian Games 2026 Chaos? Japan Tells Extra Athletes To Arrange Their Own Stay Amid Accommodation Crisis

Japan's Asian Games organisers have told late additions to arrange their own accommodation after entries rose from 15,000 to around 17,000, the OCA said. Aichi Governor Hideaki Omura said hosts lack the manpower and budget for extra participants. The Games, from September 19 to October 4, will use hotels, temporary huts and the Costa Serena cruise ship.
