16-year-old boy detained for allegedly sexually assaulting minor girl in Odisha

Baripada: On charges of sexually assaulting a nine-year-old girl, police have detained a 16-year-old boy in Mayurbhanj district. According to the complaint, the incident took place in the Baripada Sadar police station area when the girl was allegedly alone at home. The accused minor allegedly sexually assaulted her when her family members were away. Acting on the complaint, police detained the 16-year-old and produced him before a magistrate. The accused minor was subsequently sent to a juvenile observation home, police said. Further investigation into the incident is underway.
